Headache And Dizziness After Waking Up From Sleep
Question: I woke up after sleep and experiencing heavy Headache & dizziness
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in.
I see that you are from India with no past significant medical history. So, I presume that you woke up just now (in evening) and experiencing the headache & dizziness. Sometimes when the sleep was not a good one or a prolonged sleep for 9+ hrs can cause such a problem.
It can also occur when blood glucose falls below the normal levels. Have a small meal then T.Paracetamol 500mg once. You should be fine.
Feel free to ask if the symptoms are not getting better.
Regards.

It is not going away. Do I need to avoid some meals ?
I apologize for the delayed response. I hope you are better now. If not, please provide the below details. They will help me understand the nature of headache.
1. Is it one sided?
2. Is it present in forehead or backside of head?
3. Does the dizziness increases/decreases one changing the posture?
4. Any associated nasal stuffiness/ ear ache/ sore throat/ hard of hearing?
5. Any blurring of vision during attacks of head ache?
Sometimes foods XXXXXXX in tyramine can precipitate migraine like headache. Avoiding cheese, onions, red wine, certain type of beans, sometimes caffeine, chocolates, nuts, smoked or dried fish can help in preventing such further attacks.
