Question: Hi doctor I have problems when urinate it taking slow doc and I have prostatis is that possible you give me a antibiotic medication doc I want to get back normal when I'm urinate please doc help me.

What antibiotic was given to you? I usually prescribe ciprofloxacin 500 mg every 12 hours for one month. To alleviate the swelling of the prostate I prescribe tamsulosin 400mcg per tab once a day at bedtime.

No it is not an antibiotic, it is an alpha blocker which is used to help improve urination while the prostate is inflammed. This would relax the prostate while it is swollen because of the prostatitis. Yes it would gradually improve urination and yes it would go back to normal after one month of taking the drug.
