How Accurate Is Syphilis CLIA Screening Done After 175 Days?
Question: Hello doctor,
I had unprotected sex on may 2014. I tested myself for all STI for four times upto 6 months after my unprotected sex. I want to know about my syphilis test accuracy and window period. I had syphilis CLIA screening done and I want to know how accurate is the test after 175 days of unprotected sex. I repeat that test 3 times in six months and last test was 175 days after my intercourse ( As I said earlier).
What is the difference between VDRL and CLIA test?
Which test is more accurate?
Do I need to test myself again?
Thus CLIA test is conclusive after 175 days?
Thus IBS effect CLIA test?
I forget to tell that all my STI tests comes back negative.

Clia test is chemiluminescence imuno assay which detects antibodies to syphilis.
It is more than 95% sensitive. You have got it done after 175 days exposure. So it is conclusive .you are free from syphilis.
VDRL sensitivity in detecting may be little less than clia.
You are free from syphilis.IBS cannot affect test results.Do not worry.
There is no need for repeating any tests.
You are free from other STDs too.
Allay fears.
