How Can I Clear The Pressure In The Right Ear?
Question: How can I clear the pressure in my right ear? I've had a low grade cold for
three weeks. I drove to XXXXXXX ID from Las Vegas, NV, numerous elevation changes during the drive, highest was 7,000 feet. In XXXXXXX I had a lot of pressure in my LEFT ear. The left ear drum burst that evening. I went to Urgent care, a PA issued me amoxicillin 875mg and Pseudoephedrine 120mg,each tablet twice a day. It is eight days later. My left face sinuses are clear, I am still getting a little, clear discharge from my left ear. My right sinuses are completely blocked and I have a lot of pressure in my right ear. How can I clear the pressure in my right ear? Do I need to go seek more medical attention?

Brief Answer:
Yes, steroids and strong antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Unfortunately, it sounds like you still might have an infection in your left ear since it's draining, as well as your right year and possibly some sinusitis too. Generally, when most people fail amoxicillin they get put on Augmentin. Steroids will help because they will decrease the inflammation in that area.
Additionally, if you have other medical problems such as diabetes you may require a different and even stronger antibiotic. Furthermore you may require multiple antibiotics.
