How Can A Lump In The Armpit After Taking BCG Injection Be Treated?
Brief Answer:
Will take a month
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing.
I understand that your child has a big BCG lump in the armpit . This is nothing but lymph node swelling as a reaction to BCG .
As BCG is non human strain it does not cause any disease . So no need to worry.
Sometimes the swelling may take upto a month to settle . But antibiotics are not needed more than a week.
In your child's case , it is better to stop antibiotics and wait patiently.
In next few weeks the swelling may settle down.
Incase if it becomes big, tense and with pain, it needs to be drained out by your child's Paediatrician.
Let me know if you need further assistance
Wishing your child speedy recovery.
