How Can A Sore In The Armpit Be Treated?
Question: Several days ago, I noticed that the area (arm pit) felt sore. When I raised my arm to see why, i noticed what appears to be a ligament protruding there. It has remained sore for the last few days, but it only prtrudes when I rase my arm. But when I reach in a certain way, it is more painful. what could this be?
Brief Answer:
Please upload an image.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. However, it is hard to comment without properly examining you. I think that you are talking about some tendon from that region. It would be really helpful if you could upload an image and mark the structure that you are referring to.
The other possibility is an enlarged lymph node. Often local infections occur and they drain into the local lymph nodes causing them to become enlarged and tender. You could be referring to it.
I will wait for your response.

I submitted a question last night. I was asked to provide photos . The first two pictures are of the under, arm area that is affected. A long , ligament appears to be protruding when I extend my arm. it is painful when I extend it.
The last two pictures are of the opposite under arm area. This is what my under arm area usually looks like. there has been no injury or trauma. there's no fever or illness.

Brief Answer:
A tendon
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have checked the attached images. The mentioned structure is not a ligament (a fibrous structure joining two bones) but a tendon (the fibrous end of a muscle before it inserts into a bone). It is not a cause of concern. If you feel the area is sore you need to take some NSAID like Aleve (naproxen) as and when required (preferably in full stomach) for the next few days. Hopefully the soreness will resolve in a week or so.
Feel free to write back.
Regards

Thank you so much for your answer. Can you share what a cause of this might be? I had no injuries or illness or strains that I'm aware of.
Brief Answer:
The sweaty armpits attract bacteria and fungi
Detailed Answer:
I understand, but the armpits get sweaty and therefore attract bacteria and fungi. Such local infections may cause tenderness to develop.
