How Can A Sunburn On The Leg Be Treated?

Consideration
Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.
I understand that you experienced a sunburn to your leg recently. I did take a look at the photo you sent as well. It looks like the part of your leg that is most affected is the outside ranging from just below your knee to above your foot.
with a sunburn of this degree there can be a moderate amount of inflammation below the surface of the skin. This inflammation could contribute to some numbness and tingling which may cause the sensation you describe in your foot.
I would expect your symptoms to rapidly improve over the next 24 to 48 hours. I would recommend that you hydrate your skin well with topical lotion. In addition you might take some ibuprofen one or two tablets which translates to 200 to 400 mg every eight hours. This might help with some of the inflammation and might contribute to some improvement of your symptoms more quickly.
if you continue to have numbness in tingling beyond 48 hours I would recommend that you contact your primary doctor for follow-up.
Thank you again for sending a question.
Sincerely,
Dr. Galamaga
