How Can An Ovarian Cyst Be Treated?
Question: I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst of about 2cm (haemorrhagic) a few months ago. A more recent ultrasound scan shows that the cyst has grown very slightly but still looks haemorrhagic in nature. I have now been told that it can be left and just to go back if I get any more symptoms. I still get quite a lot of pain at the time of ovulation, but it isn't causing any other symptoms that I am aware of. Is it ok to just leave this without follow-up? Or should I really have another ultrasound at some point? Many thanks.
Brief Answer:
Oral contraceptive pills needed
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic
In my opinion you need to take oral contraceptive pills for at least 2 cycles and see the pain after that.
Any such cyst should resolve and generally there is nothing much to worry
After that also if pain persists then get a repeat scan.
All the best
