How Can Fever With Chills And Loss Of Appetite Be Treated?

Question: I am a 69 year old male in good health and I have not been feeling well for 4 days. The last time I had a fever for multiple days was many years ago when I had the flu. However, I had a flu shot and I don't seem to have the other symptoms. A fever on Friday 100.2, Saturday 100.8 and I just checked again (Monday morning) and I continue to have a fever of 100.5. I have spend a lot of time in bed. Intermittent chills. Very poor appetite, as I ate almost nothing on Friday, a bit more on Saturday, but not much. Neither diarrhea nor vomiting. If I take an advil I feel temporarily better. I did have a kidney stone on two separate occasions 25 months apart but I have none of the pain previously associated with a kidney stone.

It may not be anything serious but it is better to get tested
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX welcome to Health care magic,
Since you have fever with chills and loss of appetite, I would like you to do a blood count and peripheral smear, routine urine examination, Liver function tests plus Widal test for typhoid.
It may not be anything serious but it is better to get tested and be sure.
Please revert back. Regards
