How Can Head Lice And Nits In My Daughter's Scalp Be Removed?
Also, do we prevent this from occurring again?
Suggestion on head lice and prevention
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I understand your concern. Headlice usually spread in the school groups or in creches or in play area where kids gather in large numbers and come into physical contact with each other.
Coming to your queries one by one -
You need to use Perlice cream rinse for the treatment. Before using, wash hair with regular shampoo and dry with towel. Apply enough of Perlice cream rinse to saturate hair and scalp, and apply especially behind the ears and on the nape of the neck. Leave the hair for 10 minutes maximum and wash with water.
If you find lice even after 7 days of first application, repeat the whole procedure a second time.
The eggs (nits) on the hair close to the scalp can be removed with the comb specifically for head lice removal.
All personal headgear, scarves, coats, and bed linen should be disinfected by hot water treatment and then machine wash and sun drying.
Personal articles of clothing or bedding that cannot be washed or dried by machine may be dry cleaned, sealed in a plastic bag for a period of about 2 weeks.
Personal combs and brushes may be disinfected by soaking in hot water above 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for 5 to 10 minutes.
Hope this helps and if you have any further queries in this regard, I will be glad to answer.
