How Can Manic Behavior Along With Excessive Smoking And Drinking Be Managed?
Visiting a doctor on other pretext may help
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
I am sorry to know that there is some evidence of manic depressive illness with poor insight in your daughter.
Considering the fact that she have abnormal drinking pattern, smoking with internalisation of things, recent attempt to abstain from alcohol (I assume this on basis of your query to me dated 30 July 2017) possibility of manic depressive illness cannot be ruled out.
Considering the looming serious problem I feel it is extremely important to seek a opinion from doctor. As she is not willing to seek help I think visiting a doctor on pretext of your illness or on pretext of some other things may help.
In case she have any physical symptoms visiting a doctor on that pretext may help as individuals are less receptive to psychiatric diagnosis.
In case none of the above is possible you can have a online session with me and I think she may agree to consult with a doctor online with comfort of home. I will try my best to convince her to seek medical help.
A consultation can be booked to me at www.icliniq.com/ashok
I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
