How Can Round Ligament Pain During Pregnancy Be Treated?
Hope you are doing well.
I asked you about her cough 2 days back. She has resumed health back today with her cough subsiding and runny nose also vanished.
Few Questions
1. Due to Cough , its causing her a bit of round ligament pain in the right and left corners of the belly ? I hope that is normal
2. Also in her Pelvis region there is a kind of stretching kind of feeling. Is that normal in second trimester.
Other than that Baby has started to kick as of 2 days and she will be starting her 22 weeks in 3 more days.
Thanks
Normal pain and stretching
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for trusting me and this portal for the health issues.
It's good to know that your wife has resumed her normal health.
1. It is normal to have on and off round ligament pain in the second trimester.
Moreover, cough causes exertion and stretching which leads to exacerbation of the pain.
She can start doing the prenatal exercise known as Butterfly exercise, which will provide her relief from the round ligament pain.
2. Yes, one gets the feeling of stretching in the abdomen in the second trimester, due to gradual enlargement of the uterus. Nothing to worry about that.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Feel free to ask further.

Safe in pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Vitamin D can be taken safely in pregnancy.
Duphastone and progesterone suppositories are given to make the uterine environment more favourable for the fetus and preventing preterm labour.
She can continue them.
Nothing to worry.
