Answered by Dr. Dr. Gopal (28 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Could be cervical spondylosis or frozen shoulder.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
There are multiple causes of shoulder pain. Since you have not mentioned any restriction of movement , I take it as normal.
1.In this case when you have normal range of movement , usually the pain is referred pain due to pressure on cervical nerve root C5 , as it happens in cervical spondylosis or cervical disc.
2.In case when the movements of shoulder are restricted - the problem is generally frozen shoulder.
I suggest you start pain killers , Muscle relaxants and physiotherapy. Physiotherapist will start appropriate physiotherapy according to your problem.
In addition , in case 1, you start a combination of pregabalin and methycobalamin plus get an x ray of cervical spine.
In case two - if there is no relief in 2-3 weeks go for MRI shoulder.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
