How Can The Swollen Parautheral Glands Be Identifies?

Clinical examination can diagnose the paraurethral gland swelling
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I read your query and I understand your concerns about paraurethral gland ( also called skene's gland) swelling.
Following is my reply:
1) Skene's gland swelling generally occurs due to infection and abscess formation of the gland.
2) These glands are located in lower part of urethra and are very small ( less than 1 cm) and not palpable.
3) When there is infection or abscess formation, they become enlarged and can be palpated by clinical examination.
4) There is symptoms of burning urination, retention of urine or dribbling urine in skene's gland infection.
5) If clinical examination fails to diagnose this infection, it is possible to diagnose the same by doing an ultrasound scan or by doing cystoscopy.
6) You can take broad spectrum antibiotics (like Cephalexin 500 mg every 6th hourly for 10 days) with prescription from your doctor. This helps in treating skene's infection generally.
7) If antibiotics dont help, surgical removal of skene's g;and may be required.
I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya

Please get examined by a doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You please get examined by a doctor. It is not possible for you to identify it by pressing.
It needs experience in diagnosing these. What you are feeling could be just vaginal folds.
Get examined by your doctor.

Dr. Soumya
