Blind Dilatation of urethra for urethral stricture disease was a standard procedure decades ago but since advent of optical urethroscope it is considered to be outdated procedure and Dilatation of urethra is done under vision and the procedure is called as Visual Internal Urethrotomy (VIU)and usually done as a out patient procedure under short general anesthesia .
Pt is usually discharged on the same day after 4-6 hours.
