Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for informing me about your medical consult.I appreciate it.
The tests that your doctor has ordered are common tests.I will explain every test.
-Complete blood count test is a routine test that serves to evaluate the cells present in blood like: White blood cells, Red blood cells, Hemoglobin etc.
It gives a general view and can exclude possible conditions like anemia , infections or other conditions that can alter these parameters of blood.
-Blood sugar is also a routine test to exclude Diabetes or Hypoglicemia
-Stool analysis is a test that examines a sample of stool and includes microscopic examination, chemical tests, and microbiologic tests.
This is done to exclude possible conditions like infections, malabsorption ,certain specific conditions affecting the digestive tract etc.
-H.pylori in stool is a test used to detect the presence of H pylori infection. This is a bacteria that can enter in body and live in the digestive tract.About 2/3 of the world's population is infected with this bacteria but the majority doesn't have any symptoms of problem with it.
In other cases this bacteria can cause inflammation of the lining of the stomach causing peptic ulcer and gastritis.
If this test is positive means that your stomach symptoms were due to it and you will take a treatment to treat the infection.
-Calcium test is done to evaluate the calcium in your blood because abnormal levels of calcium can cause muscle twitching.
You don't need to worry. All the test ordered are done just to exclude common causes for your symptoms like H.pylori infection , gastrointestinal infections, etc. These are common conditions that can be treated.
The tests will not indicate specific disease like hepatitis or HIV.These require specific tests.
I would appreciate if you keep me informed with the tests results once you get them.
Try to relax. You don't have any reason to worry about.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena

detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for tests results .I had gone through the reports carefully.
-The results of complete blood count are normal. This means that you don't have anemia.
-The calcium level in your blood is normal ,so the muscle twitching and vibration sensations were not due to this.
-The H.pylori Ag in stool is negative, means that you are not infected with H.pylori.
-The stool test is normal. There is no presence of blood ,mucus or pus in stool. This means that your don't have any bacterial or parasitic infection of the gastrointestinal tract.
This excludes any pathological cause for the episodes of soft stool. So most likely the cause is IBS.
The level of blood sugar is not of concern since it is a random blood sugar.A level of blood glucose 150 mg/dl is near normal values and not of concern because it depends from the diet and foods you have eat lately.
Just to be sure ,you can do another test early in morning ,before eating. The test is called fasting blood glucose and can evaluate better if you have a problem.
A fasting blood sugar level less than 100 mg/dL is normal.
The doctor has prescribed you an Antibiotic ( Ciprofloxacin )
-Mebeverine and Omeprazole to treat the gastrointestinal symptoms.
Mebeverine is an antispasmodic which helps to relieve the pain and discomfort associated with gastrointestinal spasms. It is used to improve symptoms in Irritable bowel syndrome.
-Omeprazole is a PPI drug that will reduce the acidity of your stomach.
-Mecobolamin is used to supplement you with Vit B12 .
If your symptoms of stomach discomfort and IBS symptoms are present you should take the treatment. There is no reason to be fear these drugs ,they are used to treat and improve the symptoms in such condition. They won't cause any major problem.
Let me know if you have any question.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena

Now a random thought comes in my mind that if these test are clear then it might be some more serious problem. Or these test enough to say ibs is the real cause?
My doctor told me that my muscle twitching might be due to de hydration cause by soft stool. Is that a reason of muscle twitching?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If your symptoms of stomach upset and IBS (abdominal cramps, episodes of soft stool ) can be managed with lifestyle and diet changes ,probiotic and are not of great concern (means don't affect your quality of life) you can chose not to take Omeprazole and Mebeverine.
I am not sure about the reason why your doctor has prescribed you an antibiotic.Probably the doctor prescribed Ciprofloxacin and Omeprazole to treat an H.pylori infection but the result of stool test was negative for the presence of H.pylori infection and the stool test didn't indicate any intestinal infection that would require antibiotic.
I can't tell you not to take these drugs because your doctor has made the decision based in physical examination too.
I would suggest to take Mecobalamin ,it would treat any possible early deficiency of Vit B12.
These tests are enough to tell that there is no serious case for your digestive tract problems.IBS is the most likely cause.
Regarding muscle twitching ,it is true that dehydration can cause muscle twitching because it alters the electrolyte balance in blood. This is difficult to be the cause in your case because the episodes of soft stool are sporadic ,not continuous and the amount of liquid lost is minimal compared with the daily intake of fluids.
Under such circumstances the most likely cause of muscle twitching remains anxiety.
I would still suggest to test your thyroid function just to exclude it as a possible cause.
Please feel free to ask if you have any doubts to clarify.

Dr.Rovena

i knw that diebeties is also a big disease but fear of hiv was very much then this. If in case i have diebeties i can try to control because . I dont like sugar very much. but these muscle twitching like pulse that can come any where in body gives me anxiety. Is it poasible these comes due to anxiety? Or diebeties?
One more question that i have is . Suppose my muscle twitching is due to vitaman deficency . Then how many days it will take to normal? bcz you told in my medicine i have vit B .

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I am sorry for the delay.
You don't have Diabetes so don't need to worry about it.The level of 150 mg/dl of random blood sugar is pretty much normal so there is no way that those muscle twitching are due to Diabetes.
Even is you had Diabetes (random glucose level over 200 mg/dl) is can cause such symptoms years over uncontrolled diabetes.
These sensations of muscle twitching and vibration sensation are very common symptoms of anxiety. They are not characteristic for neurological disease.
The fact that your tests results were normal ,is a good think. It doesn't mean that you have something more serious but that most likely your symptoms don't have pathological cause and the most possible cause is anxiety.
If your symptoms were due to a serious cause ,they would be persistent and progressive. Most likely by now you would have other associated symptoms.
The fact that your muscle twitching and other symptoms improved and were pretty much gone ,when you wasn't concerned about your XXXXXXX ,is very suggestive that anxiety might be the possible cause.
I have told you that the only way to stop thinking HIV a s a possibility is to get tested for it.You should take the courage to do the test.Once you will be reassured that you don't have HIV ,it can help to manage you anxiety and not to worry to much about your health.
If your symptoms were due to Vit B12 deficiency ,you should feel improvement after some time.It can vary from days to 1-2 weeks. In this case your symptoms will improve gradually.
Take care,
Dr.Rovena

Hi there,
I am glad you decided to follow a diet plan.Sometimes this is all you need to control symptoms of IBS.
I would suggest to give for some with proper diet and proper sleep ,anxiety management (try to relax and don't think about your health, think that you are healthy and you have nothing to worry about) and see what happens.
Start taking Mecobalamin and see if the muscle twitching improve.
I will be here if you further help.
As always you are totally welcome.
Once again thank you for your trust.
Take care,
