Essential oils are obtained from plants. They contain volatile aroma. They can be used for:
- topical ailments by applying/massaging in the skin; applying compresses, bathing or applying as sprays
- gargle
- inhalation therapy by using a steamer, dry evaporation, diffuser or spray
- can be ingested but under strict health care supervision to prevent undesirable effects to take place
