It was a street dog. I did not observe the dog.
I was bitten by a street dog around 1.5 years back. I only got scratch and there was no bleeding at all. I was bitten in the leg from over my jeans pant.
Although it is 1.5 years back, I am afraid of any possible consequences. So pls advice me what to do now, so that I can rule out the possibility of rabbies in future. Should I take the vaccination now? Will it be effective?

Brief Answer:
No need to take vaccine
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
In my opinion there is no need to take vaccination based on the following point.
Possibility of rabies increases when there is active bleeding. As you have only scratch through jeans there is no possibility of rabies.
It is a 1.5 years before the incident happened. Usually the incubation period for rabies is few weeks. Only in vary rare cases it can go up to years.
Dog has bitten you on jeans pant so further possibility is decreased.
But if you can take the vaccine it will surely start effectig you.
I will be happy to answer your further concern, you can ask me on bit.ly/DrArun.
Thank you.

Sir, how can taking vaccine start effecting me for sure? I am very much terrified by this because I was thinking to get myself vaccinated. The doctor that I consulted told me that I can take vaccine as it will not have any drawback. I have also studied somehere that vaccines can be taken before the virus enters the brain and symptoms starts to show up. I request you to pls help me out in this regard. I am very much worried.
