How High Does Insulin Should Be To Be Diagnosed As Insulin Resistant?
Question: How high does insulin have to be to be diagnosed insulin resistant
Brief Answer:
>25 mIU or >174pmol/L is Insulin Resistance.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
I read your question and i understand your concern. A fasting serum insulin level of greater than the upper limit of normal for the assay used (approximately 174 pmol/L or 25mIU/L), is considered evidence of insulin resistance. So innutshell, insulin levels should not be more than 25 mIU/L or 174pmol/L in either fasting or after 3 hours of last meal.
I hope it helps. Take care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

What sbout lack of sleep?
Brief Answer:
Indirectly too.
Detailed Answer:
Insomnia itself is a stress and chronic insomnia deranges circadian rhythms and thus hormonal imbalance. So yes sleep deprivation may cause insulin resistance but that too indirectly by the stress hormones.

Is it normal for blood sugar to increase during mensration (still within normal range)
Brief Answer:
Vary individually
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back!
yes it is perfectly normal. Blood sugar is increased due to insulin resistance induced by oestrogens and progestins. It happens in a few days prior to menses and last for a couple of days. With normal people it remains in range though. There are some reports of decrease in blood sugars too so this mechanism is quite controversial and unexpected.
