How Long Can Viaderm Be Used For Genital Fungal Infection?
Question: Ive had a pretty bad yeast infection on my glans following antibiotic treatment. My doctor prescribed me Viaderm to use once/day for a week.
It worked really well and i started applying twice / day.
After the week duration i still have some evidence of fungus still.
My question is can i still continue to use the viaderm or am i running the risk of "thinning" the skin of my penis.

Brief Answer:
would be best to a plain anti fungal
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The complication of thinning the skin is usually related to ointments or creams that contain steroids.
Viaderm can contain 4 ingredients, one of which is triamcinolone, a topical steroid.
Though steroids can be helpful in treatment in the first stage of fungal infections, they are not normally recommended for a prolonged period.
It would be best to use a plain anti fungal such as ketoconazole, econazole, miconazole.
One of these would be over the counter.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
