How Long Do Withdrawal Symptoms Last After Stopping Medication Abruptly?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: Doctor I do not know if u can see the other questions I asked today about the medications my doctor abruptly stopped prescribing me. if u cannot I will type them out it is many. I was told I needed to go to the er by another doctor on here but I'm on day 8 or being off these meds. aren't I past the danger window of seizures or that type of thing? I believe the doctor had me on way to many medications and would like to stay off the majority of them. I am still having withdrawl symptoms and trouble concentrating but I can handle it. I have an appt with another doctor on the 20th. in your opinion will I be OK to wait until then? isn't each day going to get beter and better as far as the withdrawls?

Brief Answer:
Agreeing with my colleagues, eben though ER probably not necessary

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

i have gone through the previous answers of my colleagues and i generally agree with their opinions about your meds and the dangers of withdrawal symptoms.

However, since you re on day 8 now and say you can handle it so far the ER can possibly be avoided. If the 20th of april is anough to consult another doctor will show depending on if your withdrawal keeps getting better. You are correct that withdrawal should keep getting better now and on day 8 you are most likely through the worst already. If there is anything getting worse please seek medical help earlyer than the 20th. though.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
