How Long Does Cannabis Remain In The System?

Question: Hello Doctor
I had a really bad experience last Thursday (21 January). I had gone to a friend's place to go for a movie however he offered me a cake which apparently was laced with cannabis. Before this, I have only had bhang once in my life (last holi) and rarely take alcohol (only a can of beer maybe once every 5-6 months). I had an extremely bad trip all night and my heart kept racing with tremors. Next morning I was still having heart palpitations in cycles though intensity had reduced. At that point I was told it was mixed with hash which is a more potent form of cannabis. At that point I tried gathering information about it on the internet and thought that I should ride it out. Over the next couple of days, the frequency and intensity of these "panic attacks" reduced almost spaced by 30-35 hours. But today again I had another episode where I felt cold chills foggy mind in the middle of the night. I lost 2-3 hours of sleep because of this. x Today my heart palpitations are much lower in intensity but am feeling tired maybe due to less sleep last night.Hello Doctor
It is a humble request to keep this information confidential. I had a really bad experience last Thursday (21 January). I had gone to a friend's place to go for a movie however he offered me a cake which apparently was laced with cannabis. Before this, I have only had bhang once in my life (last holi) and extremely rarely take alcohol (only beer maybe once every 3-4 months). But today again I had another episode where I felt cold chills foggy mind in the middle of the night. I lost 2-3 hours of sleep because of this. I realize it was a stupid mistake on my part to carelessly take something from someone, but I really want to get better. Will this last for a long time or can this be cured?

Brief Answer:
Need treatment of panic attacks

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query on hcm

Cannabis use in any form can lead to panic attacks.

In panic attacks patient used to have very unusual psychological and physical symptoms which is frequently associated with fear of dying or getting mad or heart attack. But at the end it will not happen.

You are having this problem only for few days. As panic attacks are very uncomfortable (not serious), it need treatment as panic attacks may occur for several weeks. In your case short term treatment with benzodiazepines like clonazepam which is prescription medicine will help. For that you can meet nearby psychiatrist.

Same time get evaluated for thyroid, ecg, b12 and hemoglobin to rule out medical causes of panic attacks. Avoid excessive caffeine like tea/coffee and cold drinks as they increase anxiety.

hope it will help
Take care
