How Long Does HPV Last?

Question: Further to the previous question I asked to which you had responded and allayed my fears, we had taken the VDM Kit together. Our doctor said that the infection was a viral infection but not STD. Last Thursday she did a Pap smear and HPV test for which results are awaited. The doctor who did the Pap smear said that the vaginal area and the cervix looked very healthy and without any discharge and said nothing to worry though reports will be available in another 3-4 days. She also said that even if HPV is found it would be nothing to worry because normally body can flush it out over time. This is the latest update. Will further give you an update once results come. Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
A healthy genital mucosa is good sign. Don't worry.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Welcome back and thanks for posting your further follow up.

Analyzing your further details let me reassure you first that in my experience the results would be negative for any Sexually transmitted infection. For HPV also your doctor is correct and the statement is further strengthened by the observation of healthy genital mucosa and cervix.

A close examination of cervix and vaginal area gives lot information about any serious pathology. So it is very relaxing to know that the arwa is quite healthy.

I reassure you fully that there is nothing to be worried about as per the details you have provided.

Do give me a follow up of the reports.

My best wishes for good health.

With regards,
