Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
yes, i have recently started having a yellowish tint in my semen...also i have a little bit of burning during urination...i went to a urologist and asked if i had any STDs and he did a urine test that came back negative...does this mean i am fine or should i be worried?
You are having yellow semen and also painful urination. You have not mentioned if you are sexually active or not. Pain at the start or during urination is indicative of urinary tract infection (UTI). Pain after you have urinated may be due to some developing problem with the prostrate or bladder.
Yellow semen may be due to abstinence, aging or dietary changes but sometimes it can be due to infection, STD. You are suggested to get STD tests done to rule out STI. If positive you will be treated with antibiotics / antivirals. Get your bladder and prostrate examined by a Urologist. Get Urinalysis (C/S and R/E) done. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
