How Long Does Keppra Take To Be Effective?

I am on Lexapro 5 mg, Klonopin 2 mg, Keppra 1000mg and Solian (amisulpride) 100mg. Since six weeks my pychiatrist gave me Keppra instead of Exitelev (a biosimilar of Keppra) and Keppra is supposed to fight some dopaminergic effects of Solian at low dosage that caused and "ocd like" (just "like") symptom, or something like an automatism. Since three days (friday) ago i was at 98% -100 % of recovery (with a full effect of Keppra but i still have some symptoms sometimes (for example this morning). I would like to know if i can rely on a very quick (these days, this week) sustained effect now and if some "downs" with my symptoms can finally go this week. I would like to remember that it's not a matter of anxiety depending on my own but created by chemistry, and that i would like to have this information since i have a work and i have to travel, so i cannnot be waiting all the time for "idiopathic" effects or reactions even if each person is "special"(!). Thanks beforehand and thanks also four your comprehension, XXXXXXX
Yes this is expected
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concern about occasional downside of symptoms and illness factors.
Recovery of 98-100% is considered better than excellent and I like to congratulate your treatment team and your sustained efforts to bring things under control.
Keppra is good molecule and you can rely on it for sustained effect over a period. My statement is based on the fact that within six weeks it is helping you for a large extent and will continue to help you.
In addition fluctuations are not idiopathic effects and hey do occur to all of us whether we take medicine or not. In fact they are part of human being. So need not to wait for these things and moving on is better option.
I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards

Thank you very much for your answer. What i mean is from the point of view of chemistry and not from the psychological one. What i would like to know is if i can expect less and less bad symptoms and downsides (shorter and so on) in the following days because of a sustained good effect of Keppra. I understand of course that we all have fluctuations but i am asking this time about chemistry since as far as i've been told Keppra has a cumulative effect. This effect can be then strongest day by day and without less and less downsides? This is my question, sorry if i was not clear before,
Thanks beforehand, XXXXXXX
Answer is yes
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me with required clarification.
First of all sorry for intial confusion.
Your expectation is in lin with available scientific literature and there is evidence that over time fluctuations become less intense and infrequent with use of Keppra.
It can be expected that at biological level your brain will be more stable with use of Keppra. Since biology is determined by chemistry and same will be applicable for chemistry.
I hope this clarifies the answer.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.

Thanks for your answer, as far as i understand it's not possible to know WHEN fluctuations in chemistry of Keppra can stop and it's possible to have a full stability with a full effect. In any case, is this possible soon afeter the week 6, maybe? It's all i want to need because i need to have some plans in my life.
Thanks,
Regards XXXXXXX
Knowing exact time is not possible to date
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.
Unfortunately knowing exact time is not possible but it is known that generally drug shows stability within four to six weeks in majority and 8-12 weeks for almost all persons who receive keppra.
At the end of six weeks you can expect stability but establishing it firmly with available tests is not possible.
I hope this answers your question.
Thanks and regards
