Brief Answer:
as long as secretions present

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

These infections are spread via the secretions from the nose and also from coughing.

Both nasal discharge and cough droplets can cause transmission. As long as either of these is present there is a risk of spread.

It would require careful hand washing. The mouth should be covered with each cough and hands washed subsequently

Any surfaces that may have been touched with your hands should be cleaned. (if your hands not sanitized prior to touching)

Summary: infectious as long as there are secretions present
