Detailed Answer:
Hello
I appreciate your concern for your father
At the outset I would like further information for better assessment of the condition
What all symptoms he was having when he was admitted to the hospital
Is he still running fever or having cough?
Please upload me all the investigations ordered or carried out.
Apart from medicines advised by his doctor I would advise him to follow these guidelines
He should take fresh fruits and steamed vegetables
He can take anti acidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids for 5 to 7 days.
He should take steam inhalation and do deep breathing exercises
He should also take multivitamin supplements especially folic acid and Vitamin B12.
Give him glucose water if he is not diabetic
Please write back to me with the details I have asked, so that I will be able to tell you more accurately
Best wishes

Thanks for the feedback.
When he was admitted he had following symptoms:
Fever- high in evenings
Cough
Breathing problem
Now he does not have any of these symptoms- no fever, no cough and breathing problem is absolutely fine.
He is diabetic. He is already taking Pantaacid. The only issue is that he is feeling week and eat very less.
Initially when he got admitted his blood report was:
Platelette count- 75000, ESR 100
When he got discharged from hospital his platelette count was 1,50,000
And in recent test it has again dropped to 1,00,000- to which doctor says its because of strong antibiotics which he is taking. Also TLC count is 4300 and ESR is 64.
Will he be fine? He is very depressed as he can not go for work and feels very week. Please suggest.
Thanks
Please consider these guidelines
Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again
Yes, he can go to work as soon as he recovers.
Here again I would like to know if he has lost any weight in recent past?
You should discuss with his doctor about the possibility of tuberculosis which has to be ruled out in such a clinical case.
Weakness and depressed state might be related to less energy or number of medicines he is taking.
In my opinion he should remain cheerful and happy.
multivitamin supplements are advisable
Little bit of exercise if he can comfortably do.
Give him fresh fruits or fruit juice which will increase his energy and stamina
Antibiotics are not indicated now when he is not having fever or cough ( acute symptoms)
You should discuss with his doctor to stop all the antibiotics after taking an X ray chest and blood test for CBC and ESR.
Please do let me know if you have any more doubts I will be happy to help you
Best wishes

hello doctor,
He doest not have TB. Relevant tests have been done for that. Yes he has lost 3kg but that's because of less apetite.
His test was done ( X ray and CBC) 3 days back and it showed
Haziness in left lobe mild lower zone. to which doctor said that infection is 90% cured and for 10% he again gave antibiotics for 5 days ( I had already mentioned medicine names in our previous conversation.)
Hope he will be fine soon. Awaiting good news from u :).
He will be alright very soon
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome again
I am sure he will be alright very soon
Infection resolution and clearance of consolidation takes time which appears as haziness on X ray that is the sign of resolving infection
You should ask him for steam inhalation and deep breathing exercises which will definitely help in clearing infection and inflammation.
For coughing you can give him cough lozenges or honey mixed with few drops of ginger juice
Hope this helps him
