How Long Does Jaundice Take To Heal Post Treatment?
It will take 4-6 weeks to reduce the high bilirubin level.
Detailed Answer:
Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern regarding the high bilirubin level.
First and the foremost thing is the patient with alcoholic hepatitis (liver disease) must quit drinking alcohol once for all, then certain dietary restrictions, vitamin supplementation & avoiding certain medications will promote early healing process and hence the restoration of the raised liver function tests like serum bilirubin, enzymes, prothrombin time, etc.
In addition to the blood tests, an abdominal ultrasound is also recommended to assess the condition of the liver and gall bladder.
Hope this answers your query.
However, I shall be glad to answer your follow up query.
Best wishes.

Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for your reply and the compliment.
Noted the results of LFTs.
Since increased bilirubin level reflects the liver injury (disease) along with the high levels of SGOT & SGPT. Bilirubin is normally metabolized (conjugated) and excreted. Since liver is inflamed the process of conjugation gets slower and hence it will take more time for the bilirubin to return to its normal level.
Hope this answers your query.
You are welcome.
