Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor... I am a heart patient and have already undo a cardio vascular surgery 3 years ago. Normally i am supposed to take warfarin of 6mgs and my INR is supposed to be 2.5. but today i have had a blood test where my sample was clotted and my INR has come to 1.2. can you please advice what is to be done to make my INR come to normal that is 2.5. Thank you in advance.
Hello, INR should be very strictly kept within the target range. Your INR seems low, but the clotted sample means the report may be wrong. Blood taken for INR, should always be taken in the special voil for PT/INR (blue cap usually). And the sample must be filed upto the market, no more no less. Do first get a repeat test immediately from a decent lab and then decide about anything else. Regards
