Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help.
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a complicated bacteria and when it results in urinary tract infections, the gold-standard and preferred choice of treatment is with the help of parenteral (intravenous) antibiotics (usually a group called aminoglycosides).
But there are many different factors that cause the route, duration and medication used to vary. For example, if the infection is uncomplicated the duration of treatment is 3-5 days, if complicated it is 7-10, and if there is associated pyelonephritis then the duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks. And so, the treatmenr depends entirely on the level of seriousness and associated complications. As youe brother is asked to stay hospitalized for long, I am assuming there are a few complications as well.
Please be patient and let him complete his course at the hospital, it is whats best for him. I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
Abscesses, associated infections, etc.
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.
I shall surely help you with that information.
Complications include whether the infection is limited to the bladder or has gone further, bacteremia, abscess formation, upper tract infections, resistance to antibiotics used, etc.
But all these issues can be challenged sucessfully, although it can only be done sucessfully if the patient is under 24-hour supervision.
I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you ma'am. Please feel free to write back to me for any further assistance, I am always available to help.
Best wishes.
All queries addressed ma'am
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am.
Elaborate blood investigations, ultrasound investigations, clinical picture, etc; provide information on the complications ma'am.
As for the anribiotic resistance, there is always a forst-line and second-line of treatment. If at all, there is no response from the first-line we then initiate the second-line of treatment. So do not worry about the infection not getting treated, we have many options to treat it ma'am.
I hope that helps to clear your doubts ma'am. Do not hesitate to ask me anything, I am always available to help.
Best wishes.
You are most welcome ma'am
