What Causes Abdominal Pain And Frequent Urination?

Hi, 3days ago I suddenly had bad lower abdominal pains, and had to vomit twice while I was driving. I have bad cramping pain, nausea, chills, and now Iâ??m sleepy all the time. When I pee, it feels like an ever ending pain (ready to cry ever time). I told my doctor I may have a UTI, since I get them often and I know the symptoms. She told me I did and because I had a UTI in January she will send my urine to the lab and check if I have a kidney infection. I later notice I had blood in my urine (it was visible to the naked eye). I am also wounding since the symptoms are so similar, if I maybe pregnant. My last period was May 20. I took a test and it was negative. Everyone is saying itâ??s too early to tell. The Possible Kidney infection scares the hell out of me. I was in the Doctor office for 3 hour and had to pee 4 times. Iâ??m getting up about 3 times a night just to pee. Iâ??m on pins and needles thinking about. My doctor keep telling me â??Iâ??m not trying to scared you over and over againâ?? when she was telling me what it maybe and I was fine at that time. But now reading about kidney infections online got me worried. Should I go to the ER? What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a bladder infection.

I recommend to do a urine test to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, I suggest using antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin.

I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms of pain.

I also, suggest to drink liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
