Question: Hello Doctor,
I am XXXX XXXXXXX age of 43 years old, four months back I couldn't walk fastly, changed walking style, then I approached orthopedic doctor, who has diagnosed and confirmed spine tb after x ray and MRI.according to reports d10,d11 and d12 involved. But dr said d12 collapsed and asked for surgical management. I under gone laminactory and screw fixation on 2.5.2016. D10-D11and D11-L1 pedicle screw and rod fixed and started AKT 4 from 1.5.2016
Suturing removed on 10 day. After15 days inflammation found at operated site and oozing started. when i consult the surgeon, who did 3 sutures, there's no control of oozing after a week. The Surgeon planned and did secondary suturing on 4.6.2016. Even though oozing started after a week, then aspiration done at site, no development , then he placed a CSF drain continues open for 5 days, no change. Then x ray had taken, which revealed dislocation of screw.Again he planned for surgery for correction. Then our relatives taken other seniordoctor opinion, he suggested it is foreign body reaction,so implants to removed. The same done on 2.7.2016 at kims hyd, no oozing andwound healed completely. I am at bed rest from 2.5.16 and medication.
How long should i be as bedridden for complete cure of spine. What type of precautions should i take to avoid complications in future. Is there be any issues after complete treatment. Could you please suggest us do's and don'ts
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Get an MRI scan done to see progress.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
In case of a spine TB with proper treatment the bone should heal in 10-12 weeks. Your spine should have healed by now as you are already on bed rest for more than 3 months.
It is best to get an MRI scan done now to see the extent of healing. In case proper healing is seen, then you can start sitting gradually with a spine brace. Continue with Anti tubercular medicines as prescribed. Do start with physiotherapy also to regain the lost muscle strength.
I hope this answers your query.
