Brief Answer:
Take dosage as per doctor advice 3-4 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Hot flashes, irritability, dizzines and headache could be related to multiple causes. However inview of normal blood reports, they may be an indicator of depression. Amitriptyline is a good drug to treat depression. Perhaps this is the reason why your doctor prescribed it. What dose has the doctor prescribed it to you? - If I were your treating doctor I would start 25-50mg dose for beginners for 2-3 weeks. If symptoms do not improve in 4 weeks time, I would like to make changes in dosage , frequency of medication. Your treating doctor will know about it.

I would suggest take this medication before bedtime, since it has side effects like nausea, vomiting and drowsiness. If the side effects trouble you, please see your treating doctor.

I would suggest you to follow your doctor's instructions certainly.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
