How Long Should Rifampin And Levofloxacin Be Taken For Retrobulbar Neuritis?

Question: Hi Doctor,

How long will my mother needs to continue Rifamcin and Levofloxacin?
Also her eyes have healed about 60%. But still she cannot read newspapers or read from television. How long will it take?

When she was diagnosed with Retrobulbar Neuritis, she underwent a MRI of eyes which showed very less effect. Her ethambutol and izoniazid were stopped at once.
She has recovered some amount(eg:- She could not recognize anything from television screen during last November. Right now she is using Whatsapp messenger and SMS on mobiles)

Levofloxcin is to be stopped and Rifampicin is to continue for the time being. Along with that she is to have B complex vitamins as well.

starting with cobadex forte capsules, suptadyn tablets or there are combination of b complex plus anti oxidants available in the market. These have to be continued and we always hope for the best and as you can see that she has shown a lot of improvement
