How Long Will A Shingles Vaccination Last?

Question: I am 52 and am planning on getting the Shingles vaccine but am wondering if when it wears off ( ten years?), am I able to get another one? Also, I am leaving for Spain tomorrow and curious if you think I should wait to get it upon return. My Dad got shingles along with post herpetic neuralgia and it is still bothering him 3 years later. My brother, age 57 just got it! I don't think it is hereditary but that is my motivation along with my husband driving me crazy to get it! :) Thanks! Jane
Brief Answer:
You can get it upon return1
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this worry. I am happy because you are very conscious and taking preventive measure to stay healthy. I will suggest that you continue and get the vaccine. Repeats every 10years is recommended to stay well protected. When it wears off, you can always get a booster dose again.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
