just got a new script(finally).
My question is how long before it kicks in and feel better?
Brief Answer:
A week tops
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Zoloft is the sertraline which is an antidepressant and Selective Serotonin re uptake Inhibitors. Its used for Major depressive disorders, panic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, Social Anxiety disorders, Premenstrual dysphoric disorders and off label use for pruritis.
Now the gap of 7 to 8 days between the refill deviated the homeostasis of serotonin re uptake and their concentration on presynaptic neurons resulted in all the horrible feeling, anxiety and mood swings and tension headaches etc.
Usually it takes average of 7 days for the balance for serotonin to get back. SSRIs start showing effect after one week of its compliant use. So hang on there Game of neurotransmitters is on. You will be completely stable in a week though every day will be better than previous ones. Get to a psychiatrist for associated tension migrainous headaches and dose reshuffling in case needed.
I hope it helps.
Take care
