I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

Waning is recommended at 6th month onwards and it is actually the start of giving the second food for the baby. You can get this food packed in little packings and is clearly written second food on them. There are many flavors and ingredients in them. Try one at a time and especially when you have to go for new foods you need to be vigilant for the baby to be allergic to some foods. Baby can be allergic to any food. So don't try the combination foods in the start as it makes difficult to differentiate which food is causing the allergy (if any).

2-3 times a day you can give full serving to the baby for second foods. It is available with names like Gerber, Nestle etc. You can also add Cerelac Cereals (Fortified) according to the baby's taste.

With that whenever baby needs, mother can breastfeed the baby. New recommendations by XXXXXXX Academy Of Pediatricians is that mother should not make her own schedule of breastfeeding. Keep it to the baby if he/she is healthy. Baby will ask and cry for milk when needed. Go according to baby's routine for breastfeeding. But if the baby isn't showing any interest in feeding or breastfeeding, and also not wetting the diapers in a proper way, it is the sign of some disease. Pediatric visit is necessary then.

I usually recommend giving Vit. D drops too alongwith other foods. Better is to consult baby's Pediatrician about that. She will guide you better if needed.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Please give your 'rating' (if agreed, Five Stars) to help me assist patients in a better way; and, please don't forget to click on 'Close The Discussion'.
