How Serious Is Grade One Carcinoma In Vagina?
Question: I have PCOS, was diagnosed 21 years ago when I was 24 which I received no information or help. I have also had grade 7 cervical cancer which was cleared 24 years ago (I am 45-46 years). A month ago I had a cruet and many biopsies, while under lesions were found at the back of the vagina, when is seen my gyno, she told me that the results for the vagina biopsies came back as grade one carcinoma , but she received another report the next day saying it was clear. What I want to know is, should I be worried, I live in a small city and we don't have much in the way of medical staff, for eg two gynaecologists.
Brief Answer:
repeat evaluation of the biopsy specimen
Detailed Answer:
Dear,
The vaginal biopsy shows different results; it must be clearly evaluated as if early cancerous lesion is present, it can be treated.
The biopsy may be from different areas hence may be showing different results.
Besides you mentioned that you had cervical malignancy, which increases the risk for both vaginal and vulva cancer.
It would be better for you to undergo detailed evaluation for the same and consider repeat evaluation of the biopsy specimen.
Though there is no need to be worried, the result merit caution and further evaluation preferably by a gynecologist who specifically specializes in oncology.
Thanks
