How Should Vitazyme Given To A Baby?
Question: My baby is 10 days old, taking out the milk after 1 hr of sleep. Stomach is very hard. Doctor prescribed Vitazyme. How to give vitazyme drop? Can it be given with breast milk? It is written on the box that, to be given with diluted water?

Yes, Vitazyme can be diluted with water or milk.
In my opinion at this age it is better to avoid such medication.
Vitazyme is a enzyme preparation. Newborn do not usually lack such enzymes at this age
Infantile colicky pains are quite common in new born child, some carminatives preparation like colicaid may help in relaxation of intestine, hence colicky pains.
Stomach is felt hard because when ever we touch the stomach child makes it hard due to reaction and we feel the hard stomach.
Burping after every feed is quite helpful in such situation.

Baby is sleeping for about 2:30 hrs and wakes up. Post waking up, within 5 mins he starts to cry and only clams down once he starts feeding. He feeds around 1 hr and sleeps while he feeds. When we try to get him a burp, he wakes up and same drill starts again. He passes urine in between and sometime excrete as well. In 24 hrs he is passing stool around 5 times. Milk is coming fine. Hope this is normal. Thanks in advance.

What ever you wrote, every thing is normal for newborns.
Try to feed 2 hourly. Try to maintain gap of 2 to 3 hours so that ample amount of milk is available in one feed and then baby usually does not demand frequently as requirement is fulfilled.
Usually babies start sleeping with in a four,five sucks of breast. Wakeup the child while feeding by gentle stimulation of palms,soles and head.
New born frequently may pass stools the moment they are fed (10 to 20 times) because of gastrocolic reflex. Gradually frequency of stools decreases with due course of time in 2 to 3 months.
