How To Deal With AKT Side Effects?

Question: Sir my wife is taking akt 3 since last one month .but it creating much side effect like vomating itching and headech.pls suggest what to do now???

Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

First of all i must tell you here that AKT-3 is not a drug to be used in Tuberculosis of any part of the body initially.
First of all, AKT-4 is given for 2 months followed by AKT-3.

So, give me following details to help you better:
1. Which Tuberculosis is she having? Pulmonary ?
2. Was she started directly on AKT-3? Or was shifted to AKT-3?
3. Is she having sever gastritis? Acidity?
4. Since when is she having itching?
5. Itching is associated with any lesions or just dry itching?
6. What other medications is she on with AKT-3? Attach the doctor's prescription preferably.

Earlier she was given 6 to 7 tablet and than started this course
Itching is dry.but the skin is went very much rough.no gastric and acidity but only feeLing of vomatig not every time vomates
And the tv was due to guilty on her neck.but she was not given any dose of akt 4 in starting becz we just made the check up one month earlier.the doctor told the itching is due to side effect of the tv medicine so he gave another medicine to prevent itching and vomating

Pls help me sir i m newly married facing this prblm so very upset dont know what to do i m affrid of making physical relation .shall i go for it or wait untill she recover .and one additinal thing can we go for other treatment in between of this course bcz i think it is not so much effective till date

I am very sorry to say that this is not a way to treat tuberculosis of lymph node (Guilty).

Initially in in treatment of tuberculosis of any part of the body 4 drugs are used (AKT-4).

So, re confirm this with your doctor.

Regarding itching, this can be a result of any of the 3 medications she is taking specially Rifampicin.

Another possibility can be itching due to cholestatic jaundice caused by these drugs.
Vomiting sensation are mainly due to acidity and reflux caused by this.

I would like you to share with us her all reports including FNAC done of that Guilty.

Get a liver function test.
Give her a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once a day.

As far as sexual relationships are concerned, if she has Pulmonary Tuberculosis then it can get spread to you.
Tuberculosis of Lymph node doesn't spread by sexual relations.

Pulmonary Tuberculosis means TB of Lung (Chest).
This gets evident on Chest Xray and Sputum for examination.
