How To Diagnose Sjogren's Disease?
Question: Since the winter of 2016, I have had many infections, (ears, salivary glands, sinus). I have also had enlarged salivary glands, extremely dry eyes (seen by an ophthalmologist) since the end of July. i was on an antibiotic for ear infection for 10 days (family doctor), and it did not even touch the infection in my salivary glands. About 3 days later, I saw an ENT specialist. He gave me a powerful antibiotic (Cipro) 500 mg. twice a day for 21 days. I finally got rid of the infection in my salivary glands. Since then, I have suspected Sjogren's disease and asked my ophthalmologist to refer me to a rheumatologist. The rheumatologist send me for blood tests and urine tests. The urinary tests that came back in the hospital portal. All I've read about Leukocyte esterase, the test is supposed to be negative, but mine was a +3. I know that I don't have a bladder or kidney infection. I am wanting to know if this is an actual test for Sjogren's. I don't see my rheumatologist for another 2 weeks and I would like to know before that.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that , for diagnosis of sjogrens syndrome ANA, ENA profile , Schirmers test need to be done . Urine positivity for leucocyte esterase suggests an infection rather than having any relationship with sjogrens syndrome . I would like to see your these reports before commenting anything about sjogrens syndrome .
