Question: I hope so, I have stumped others. My son, 15yrs, after being plagued with sinus and ear infections his whole life, learned that he had some food allergies and the age of 12, corrected his diet and the sinus and ears infections have gone away. at the age of 15 we re-checked the list of foods to see if we should begin reintroducing some the previous foods that were altered. did not remove foods from his diet, just altered, like XXXXXXX and deer for beef, coconut milk for milk and dairy, removed eggs and gave other foods in = or better proteins also, did remove all soy and went soy free because that was giving the worst effects. So, to continue on. test came back as gaining ground on the new foods that he was substituted with not having any reactions to those foods before. Now there is something completely new or related going on. Now everything he eats causes discomfort to intense pain in his stomic as well as raising his body temperature, he has huge brain fog daily, feels as though he is burning energy he does not have. we have done. scopes, ct, ultrasound, currently waiting for results from the scope biopsy during the scope and now an Porphyritic 24 hr test we are waiting for results. this has been going on since Oct of 2014. he is not able to attend HS. or even walk thru the grocery store for more that 10min. Our MD is stumped our GI is new and see no urgency. I as a mom am freaking out because I see the decline in my son everyday. Have an appointment with the GI yea, though it is not until March 24th of 2015. Don't think he will be around that long at the rate of decline he is going. Do you have and clues. His liver levels have been elevated along with his kidney levels too. An Exam on 12/17/2014 showed Mesenteric Lymph Nodes suggesting Mesenteric Adenitis in which I was told should clear up with in two weeks plus or minus a day, this has not happened, or maybe it was just a symptom if what is going on now. Any clues as to what I should do or be doing for his recovery? Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
We need to rule out inflammatory bowel disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I have gone through the details you have provided in detail.

I suggest that we need to rule out inflammatory bowel diseas3e. It needs biopsy for confirmation and you have already done that. So I suggest you await the biopsy results and get back after you get them.

if possible kindly upload all the investigations done till date as scanned copies.

If possible a photograph of your son with shins and torso will be helpful as clinical clue.

Regards - DR. Sumanth
