Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: how do you find out if or what the ebv virus is affecting? On the cancer how can you determine if early stages may occur? What would be my next step? In one reply you stated extreme exercise and constipation to avoid. I have been experiencing constipation what is the risk? Would you recommend a regular exercise? You have been very helpful.

Brief Answer:
Please find answer below...

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Thank you for asking query.

Please find your answer in pointwise manner below.

1) The test DNA PCR and antibodies to various virus surface antigens can be used to know that virus is affecting. This test you had already been carried out.

2) You can not diagnose the malignancy caused by the EBV early. But there are some populations those are at risk of malignancy. If you are amongst this group than you should periodically screen the disease. Please find below the population at risk.

- Lymphoproliferative disease Population at risk Transplantation patients

- Primary CNS lymphoma Population at risk AIDS with very low CD4+ count

- Hodgkin’s lymphoma Population at risk Children (developing countries) and Young adults (western countries)

- Nasopharyngeal carcinoma population at risk are Southern Chinese, Inuit.

- Burkitt’s lymphoma population at risk XXXXXXX children and independent of CD4+ count.

3) So your next step will be identify your risk group and screen periodically for the malignancy.

4) Yes, I advised you to avoid constipation as it can cause trauma to spleen and so can avoid splenic rupture. You can eat more of salads like carrot, cabbage etc. This will increase the bulk and makes your motion smooth.

5) Mild exercise is very essential for you I advice you to do it. It will give you a healthy feeling. Please avoid heavy exercise as it will not sutie your condition.
