Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Thank you for following up.
You are mentioning at the medical history of your wife that she is taking pills (
levothyroxine) for hypothyroid.
I would suggest to check her thyroid and
pituitary gland hormones including TSH, T3, T4, ACTH,
prolactin levels to further evaluate the balance of such hormones.
Based on the results, further therapy might be prescribed. A further consult with OG/
endocrinologist is also needed.
At the end, your wife should :
- eat the appropriate foods
- drink more water
- not be stressed about why she is not having milk. It is normal to have such problems with
breastfeeding within the first month. If she is constistent and not stressed out; then more milk will be produced in the continuing days/months.
So, it is also very important that she is emotionally relaxed.
Again, if no milk, then, should go for baby formula.
All the best
Dr.Bardha
