He is diagnosed with stage 4 lung malignancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting the query on HCM. Since the query has been directed to a Pulmonologist, after going through the query, I would like to comment the following:
1. Your husband seems to have been diagnosed with stage 4 lung malignancy with diabetes with systemic hypertension with GERD with hypothyroidism.
2. The management of stage 4 lung malignancy is palliative chemoradiotherapy which has been appropriately advised in the said case.
3. The role of dietary supplements in stage 4 lung malignancy is very limited. The aim here is to give patient an acceptable quality of life since curative treatment is not the option here as the malignancy has already spread.
4. It is recommended that you go ahead with palliative chemoradiotherapy option if the patient is fit for the same.
5. Also what is the histological type of malignancy? In cases of non small cell lung cancer positive for EGFR receptors, Geftitinib may be given in advanced cases which may be an option in our patient's case. What is the chemotherapy that is being planned?
I hope I have answered your query. I will be glad to answer follow up queries if any. Please accept my answer if you have no follow up queries.
