How To Measure Stomach Acid PH Level?
Question: I have had Acid Reflux since I was 21. I'm 35 years old and once again doing another colon and endoscopy soon mainly to check for cancer cells, etc.... They just gave me H2 blockers. Instead of this, can we just fix my problem once and for all with Apple Cider Vinegar? Reading a lot online I may not have enough acid in my stomach and Nexium along with H2 Blockers help the pain it really does not fix the problem. Do they have a way to measure my PH in my stomach area?

Reflux refers to acid contents from the stomach entering the esophagus and causing symptoms.
There is a pH test that can measure the pH or the acidity of the esophagus to determine if there is a reflux of acid from the stomach.
It is called the esophageal pH test or monitoring. Your gastroenterologist would need to initiate this for you.
It does not check the acid in the stomach but sees how much of this acid is going up into the esophagus where it should not be.
The nexium and medications in that family of drugs are proton pump inhibitors. They reduce or prevent the formation of acid. They do not get rid of the acid already there, this is eliminated within a few days but cut down on more being formed.
If you want to try the apple cider vinegar to see if it helps you , you can do so as well

So with all that said, is there a permanent fix for this vs just treating the symptoms?

Thanks I will read up on what that involves including risk and confirming if it can ever fail or work forever. I've tried the bland diet, water only and after 6 months I still have to take Nexium. Just wish there would be another way other than surgery.
