How To Quit Smoking?
Question: Hi,
I am a smoker. I smoke like 8-10 times a day. I have been doing this for last 6 months. I want to stop this habbit now. Can you suggest some ways to do that? And also can you tell me how much time it will take the smoking effects to fade away? Should i do some exercise or something like that to regain my vital capacity?

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
One way to quit smoking is to decide a date and stop smoking from that date. Another way is to stop for some time - maybe a few days. Once you develop the confidence, you can increase the duration of abstinence. It should not take more than 2 -3 weeks for the withdrawal symptoms to fade.
There are e-cigarettes available. There are nicotine patches, gums, etc available that may be used. Then there are medicines to help. For these you will need a written prescription from a doctor.
The exercises to increase vital capacity are called breathing techniques. These are also called as pranayam and XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX yoga and can help.
Hope it helps.
