How To Remove Pe Tube From Ears?
Question: I am an adult with pe tubes in my ears. Can you explain the process for getting them removed? Is it similar to the in office procedure when they numbed my ear drum before putting them in? I'm worried about pain during the removal. Thanks!
Brief Answer:
pe tubes are removed under Local anesthesia.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
In my opinion, removal of pe tubes is done under local anesthesia, where in a local anesthesia drug is injected in the ear canal and entire ear and ear drum is made numb.
It is simple procedure, do not worry.
Thanks,

Thank you Dr. Deep ashore. So most likely I should expect that the doctor will use local anesthesia in my ears before removing the tubes, which is basically how he put them in. If the tubes have been in for a few months, how long could it take for the holes in my ear drum to heal after they are removed?
Brief Answer:
4 to 6 weeks.
Detailed Answer:
Hi sir , the ear drum would take 4 to 6 weeks to heal.
Until then keep your ears dry, don't use ear bud, take care so that you don't catch up with cold or any upper respiratory infection as they would delay healing process.
Hope I have answered your query, thanks.
