How To Rule Out Follicular Lymphoma?

Question: I have been diagnosied with stage 2 Colectal Follicular Lymphona. It is on a fold in the rectosigmoid junction. The recent PET scan summary was no active disease even in the rectosigmoid junction. The bone marrow biopsy summary was no lymphoma. The doctor at the clinic where i was seen said that "watch and wait" is the best treatment option at this point. Given the circumstances listed above, is this "watch and wait" a reasonable response. I would appreciate some explanation as to why you agree or disagree. I am a 62 year old caucasian male in otherwise good health. No history of smoking or drinking. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Wait and watch is not the strategy
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir. I think there may be slight confusion between stage and grade of the disease.
As tumor only in recto sigmoid will constitute a stage 1 only.
For a stage 1 disease only options will be depending upon its grade
. It can be either radiotherapy only, immunotherapy only or a combination of chemo plus immunotherapy and radiotherapy.
Surgery is not the option
However, Wait and watch policy is certainly not the answer in your case.
I would like to see the PET written report(detailed) as well as the biopsy detailed report.
Please revert back to me with the reports.
Thanks and regards
