How To Rule Out Herpes?
However, I am concerned that I still may have herpes in my blood but it is just too early to detect. Should I repeat the testing at 6 months. Is it possible to get an exact number (i.e 0.2) instead of just "less than 0.9"
Also, what does this index number mean, and is it possible to have an index number of 0?
I have never had any leasions
I Have uploaded a PDF of my results. If you could take a look and ensure that I don't have anything to worry about I would really appreciate it as I didn't get to tlk to a doctor or anything
Nothing to worry in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at the HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
Firstly I need to tell you that there is nothing you should worry about. All your test results are normal. Herpes infection usually comes positive within few weeks of infection. Your reports clearly suggest that you do not have recent or past HSV infection. In ELISA test there is a cut-off level for each test. It means that normal population can have any value less than 0.9 is negative. HIV test is considered conclusive 12 weeks post exposure. I suggest you no further tests. No need for any anxiety related to STD or HIV infection.
Hope I answered your query
